The Ulimaroa, which left Sydney at noon yesterday for Auckland, carries 7GI bags of mail from Australia and 284 parcel receptacles. Much interest was aroused last night by a bright reflection in tho sky in tho direction of Wadestown. The cause was a gorso fire on the Town Belt ill Wilton road, and as there was no water available the crews of tho two fire engines which attended from the Central and Thorndon stations respectively had to b'u^t tho blaze- out. After working hard fot two hours the fire was stamped out, but not tiefore seven acres of gorae had been, burned.
