HOMES VISITED
VICE-REGAL FAREWELL
Since their arrival in the Dominion, Their Excellencies Sir Charles Fergusson and Lady Alice Fergus'son have taken a great interest in the Home for the Aged Needy, Newtown, and yesterday they paid a farewell visit to the institution.
They were met by Mr. G. Pctherick, chairman of the board of trustees of the home, and by other board members, including Mesdames 11. Osborne, B. E. Hirst, Murray, and Messrs. F. Meadowcroft, H. W. Kersley, W. J. Helyer, and F. J. Evans.
Mr. Petherick conveyed to Their Excellencies, on behalf of the inmates, thanks for the interest they had taken in the home.
In reply, His Excellency said they had much to remind them of their associations and friendships formed during the five happy years they had spent in New Zealand. Their Excellencies Sir Charles Fergusson and Lady Alice Fergusson also paid a farewell visit to the Homo of Compassion, Island Bay. The visit was made in fulfilment of a promise made last year, when the foundation stone was laid of an additional ward of the home. The Vice-Regal visitors went through all the wards, and spent some time in conversing with the inmates. They were accompanied by tho Mother Superior, Mother Cecilia. Eegret was expressed by the nursing staff and tho inmates that the visit was the last of a happy series.
