STATEMENT BY CENTRE
It was to-day by Mr. A. 0. Kitto, president of the Wellington Centre of the N.Z.A.A.A., that the centre had no intention of stopping cyclists from competing at next week's big sports meeting, whatever their attitude on the question of the control of cycling. The object of the centre was to get the opinions of as many riders as possible, and since some of the meetings hi.a not been well-attended, the present method of asking intending competitors at the sports was regarded as likely to give a more representative opinion. It was added by the president that the Wellington centre would not be foolish enough to want to run cycling if the cyclists did not WRnt its guidance.
