CRICKET TEST TOUR
AUSTRALIA'S TEAM
SOME ANTICIPATIONS
(Received 30th January, 1 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Australian cricket enthusiasts are on tip-toes awaiting the official announcement of the cricket team for England. There has been considerable speculation whether sixteen or fifteen players will be selected; also whether Eyder, the last Australian captain, has justified his inclusion. The official announcement of the team chosen will be made this afternoon.
The "Sydney Morning Helald" publishes a team which it has every reason to believe to be authentic. Byder is omitted. The team consists of fifteen players: Bradman, Jackson, Kippax, M'Cabe, Fairfax, Oldfield, of New South Wales; a'Beckett, Woodfull,* and Ponsford, of Victoria; V. Richardson, Grimmett, Walker, and Wall, of South Australia; Hornibrook and Hurwood, of Queensland. The omission of Ryder and Oxenham is likely to causG considerablo heartburning. There is still a possibility that sixteen players will be chosen, and one of these two may be included.
