DISTANCE EXTENDED
BIG CYCLE ROAD RACE

CHRISTCHURCH, 29th January. The Timaru to Christchurch road race, the biggest event in professional cyclic-; in the Dominion, will be known this year as the Oamaru to Christchurch race. The North Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union, which controls the race, to-night decided to extend the race to Oamaru, making the distance about 160 miles. The first Saturday in October was fixed as the date for the race.
