OPPERMANkAND O'SHEA

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHKISTCHTJBCH, 19th Dec. H. Opperman (Australia) and P. O'Shea (Now Zealand) met this evening over two distances of five miles, human paced, on the English Park cycling track. Over the first distance O'Shea led into the straight after an even race and held Opperman off, winning by a length in a great finish. The time was lOniiu 39 3-osec. In the second race the riders were again together all the way, Opperman leading into the straight. Q'Shea came almost level in a wonderful effort, but the Australian won by a wheel. Time, lOmin 23 3-ssec. Opperman also broke the record for five miles motor paced by 32sec, his time being Bmin 27sec.
