THEFT FROM A HOUSE
A steward, Arthur Rouse, aged 35, was charged before Mr. E. Page, S.M., yesterday with breaking and entering by day th1? house of Ada Fiances Walker in Vivian street and stealing £12 in money, a gold wristlet watch, and a ring, f a total value of £51, the property of Ada Frances Walker. Rouse was further charged with the theft of a dress suit valued at £4, the property of Abraham Levy Mac Duff.
The evidence showed that the accused had occupied a bach at the rear of Mrs. Walker's residence, and had entered her house during her absence. He had taken the suit from a room in Barrett's hotel.
Rouse pleaded guilty, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
