RUSSIANS THREATEN TRAIN
(Received 19th December, 11 a.m.) SHANGHAI, 18th December.
An international train conveying foreign Consular officials and journalists for the purpose of ascertaining the actual conditions on the scene of the recent Soviet military operations in Western Manchuria is to-day reported to_ have returned from Chalantan. The mission is abandoned. It is stated that Bed troops threatened the train in the event of a further advance. The real position is therefore obscure
