Though the recent cyclone has passed eastward of the Chatham Islands, and barometers have risen over the Dominion in front of an approaching anti-cyclone, pressure is still low west of Cook "Strait. In consequence winds are stiU north-westerly about East Capo and tho Bay of Plenty. Elsewhere there has been a change to winds with a southerly component. These 1 were strong at 9 a.m. from Christchurch northwards, through Cook Strait, and in North Auckland. Rain has been very widespread, with some further heavy falls. The drop In temperature has been considerable, and some frosts were experienced in tho interior of the South Island.
