CANTERBURY MARKETS.

At to-day's metropolitan market all the major sections—fat cattle, fat sheep, and fat pigs—showed an increase on last week's prices, and the general tone "of the market for all sections was healthier. The increases were due to the general rain—the -first for two months. Store Sheep.—A moderate entry, which met with a good sale. Wethers showed an increase of up to Is Gd a head. Other values were firmer than at the previous sale. Values.were: Good four and six-tooth .Romney cross wethers (shorn), 23s 9d to 2os; medium four and six-tooth Eomnev cross wethers (shorn), to 20s 6d; good four and six-tooth halfbred wethers (shorn), 21s 6d to 23s 9d; ordinary six and eight-tooth halfbred wethers (shorn) los 6d to 17s 3d; good Corriedale ewe hoggets (woolly), to 25s 9d; good Corriedale wether hoggets (woolly), to 22s 3d; good halfbred ewe hoggets (shorn), to 23s 7dgood halfbred wether hoggets (shorn), to iys fad; good crossbred ewe hoggets (shorn) to 22s 9d; good six and eight-tooth Romney cross ewes (shorn), to 25s 9d; good two-tooth and three-quarter-bred ewes (shorn), to ■ 255; good two-tooth halfbred . ewes (shorn), to 25s 2d; medium two-tooth crossbred -ernes (shorn), to 22s 6d; failingiyj, Ws 3d. to 15s 6d; sound-mouth halfbred ewes, with, lambs: (woolly), to 19s Fat Lambs.—An entry of over 700 The average,price was 9d per Ib.
