MAGISTRATE'S COURT
To-day's sitting of the Magistrate's Court was presided over by Mr. E. Page, S.M.
One first offender for drunkenness, who had spent the night in the cells, was convicted and discharged, and another was tilled os. ;
"I had a few chinks in,", said John ■Kelly, alias Frederick Pratt, aged 29 when pleading guilty to stealing a silk shirt and a pair o£ socks, of a.total -value of 18s 6d the property of fellow-lodgers, at a city boarding-house. Kelly, who had a substantial list of previous convictions was sentenced to three months'" imprisonm6nt.
