SUBURBS CLUB

The Suburbs Club fired at ranges 800 and 900 yards at Trentham on Saturday for the championship, No. 2 series, and the Newton Cup. A real corkscrew wind was blowing straight down the range, which was combined with a running horizontal mirage, and unless a marksman had the luck to fire in step the wind could not be gauged, and the deviation on the trajectories of the bullet was against good grouping. At 800 yards L. Fellingham and White made 44, and at 900 L. Fellingham and Stewart each made 41. For the combined ranges Leslie Fellingham, the youngest competitor, eclipsed all the older shots, and was top off the rifle with 85. Fellingham has had a remarkable success in the club, a young shot, and this last shoot places him in a very good position in the competition. R. Telford and Deputy-Presi-dent Goodall made consistent totals respectively, 88 and 83.

The following ore the scores:—
