QUEST FOR OIL
EIGHT OF FOREIGN CAPITAL

BRISBANE, This Day. whether foreign capital should be permitted in the search for oil in Queensland has been the subject of considerable public discussion consequent on a Bill in the Legislative Assembly giving that right to foreign investors. The Minister of Mines quoted authorities showing that all oil-producing countries J'permitted the introduction'of foreign capital with reservations. He intended to safeguard British Interests. The Bill was read a second time.
