SWIMMING ITEMS

(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") DUNEDIN, This Day. Roy Calder, New Zealand champion diver, is showing better form than ever. The opinion has been expressed here that it is a wonder he has not been invited previously by the New Zealand Council to tour New Zealand giving exhibitions, as there is no doubt that such a tour •yo(ild do much to improve the standard in New Zealand. Colder is the best diver the Dominion has proefceed. He is a wonderful entertainer oh the boards, and a good coach, and those in a position to judge state he is quite up to the standard of present Australian diving champioDs. Otago is in favour of the proposed tour of New Zealand in February and March of Miss' Jean Cocks and another Australian lady swimmer, and at least one appearance is sure to be sought here, especially if Miss Kathleen Miller can be induced to make the trip south to meet the visitors in her home town. This will probably be Miss Miller's last year in championship swimming, and there is every indication that the ex-Otago girl will make a big effort to establish new figures for both the 220 yards and 440 yards women's distances. :
