COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS' CHOIR.

.On ■. Saturday evening, next the Commercial Travellers' Choir is; givlnglKs final concert of the. 1929 season,- and-.for.. :>this performance a very fine programme', has'been arranged. The lady.vocalist, will -be -Miss' Alma Clegg, .the young- soprano, who* made a favourable impression' In tho Choral Union's presentation of "Hiawatha," and the Instrumentalists will bo Mr. Desmond Lavin, the young violinist, who has numerous successful performances to his credit,-having appeared with the Wellington .Symphony Orchestra and the Wellington Chamber Music. Players, as well as assistingthe choir on previous occasions. The soloists from the choir are Mr. A. E. Coo. (tenor) and Mr. A. G. Flanagan (baritone). The chief number ot..the clioir items will bo Dudley Buck's "King Olaf's) Christmas" cantata, written for male voices and tenor and bass soloists.- Tho solo. parts' will bo taken by Messrs. Pegg and Itodger respectively. Other items will be "The Phantom Hos;t" (Heirar) a descriptive, nuniber, and Bantock's "Hope the Hornblowcr;"'the quieter vein . will be represented by "My-Lovejs Like a Red, Rod Kosc" and Annie Laurie," while humour tvlll have its place in "Italian Salad," this being a collection of. musical terms sung in the form of Brand opera. The choir will be under the baton of Mr v .fl. Temple White, and the accompanist will bo Mr. W. A. Gatheridge. The boi plan is at the Bristol.
