NOBEL PHYSICS PEIZE
AWARD TO BRITISH SCIENTIST
STOCKHOLM, 12th Nov. ■ The Nobel Physics Prize for 1928 has been awarded to Professor Owen Richardson, of King's College, London, for his'discovery of the fundamental physical law known as Richardson law. which governs the motion of electrons emanating from hot bodies. The formula discovered by Professor Richardson constitutes the basis for the action of a wireless valve, on which wireless telephony and broadcasting depend. The 1929 Physics Prize has been awarded.to Due de Broglie, of Paris, for his discovery of the undulating nature of electrons.
„ Dr. Richardson has been Yarrow Research Professor of the Royal Society and Director of Research in Physics at King's College, London, since 1924. He was Wheatstono Professor of Physics at University of London, King's College, from 1914 to 1924, and Professor of Physics at Princeton University, U.S.A., from 1906 to 1934.
