THE EX-KAISER
STILL SAWING WOOD KEEPING FIT AT DOORN LONDON, 12th November. By the world forgot, if not the world forgetting, the ex-Kaiser spent the eleventh anniversary of his defeat at Zandvoort, in Holland, with a friend who is a member of the German nobility, and who visits him frequently. A "Sun" representative, on visiting Doom, ascertained that the ex-Kaiser is in excellent health. He is an eajly riser, and keeps fit by gardening aaid sawing timber. "His right hand is still very strong," said the Doom councillor. "Though beared and his face pale, he is in excellent physical condition. German visitors say ho ia lonely, but he has many callers." Wilhelm walks to the village with his wife, and acknowledges greetings by gravely sweeping off his hat. When away from,Doorn he wears a military uniform. Ho travels in a motor, attendants following. His wif,e shops at Doom, and is most popular with the villagers. Asked if the ex-Kaiser was liked by tho Dutch, the reply was: "We love only one person in Holland—our Queen."
