RUGBY, 13th November. The National Government of China has agreed to place the sum of 68,000 dollars, or about £6500, at the disposal of the two Commissioners, one to be appointed by the British Government and one by the Chinese Government, who will jointly scrutinise outstanding claims for losses sustained by British subjects at Chinkiang in 1927, when limited to direct losses sustained by Chinese troops. The claims are to be limited to direct lossess sustained by British subjects, and the total payments made are not to exceed 61,000 dollars.
