The following forecast was issued at 0 a.m. for tho ensuing 24 hours:—— Winds—Moderate .to strong north to west winds, reaching gale force at places from Cook Strait northwards; temporary change to southerly soon in southern districts. Barometer—Unsteady. ■ Seas—Bather rough generally.. . . . Tides—Moderate generally. Warning signals for westerly gales are exhibited at Cape Campbell and Stephens Island. Weather—Unsettled, squally, and changeable, with further rain in most parts and some heavy falls In.districts with a westerly aspect.
