SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 HOURS.
Tile depression from the Tasman Sea is now covering New Zealand. Owing to its centre having moved southwards, pressure distribution has become'more of the westerly type. Northerly to westerly winds have increased in force, and unsettled conditions have continued to prevail. Fairly general rain has been experienced, and heavy falls have occurred at a few places in the northern portion of the North Island and la the west coast of the South.
