MAJESTIC THEATRE.

Love and intrigue in the diplomatic corps is the theme of "Careers," the Billle Dove, alltalking production which is now being screened at the Majestic Theatre. Billie Dove in the role of Helene, wife of a young diplomatic omcer In lndo-China, is faced with the situation of being compromised or else seeing her husband fail in his life's work. How she risks her honour, how the villain and perpetrator or countless disasters in the small white colony meets his death, form the crux of the story of "Careers." The screen version was done by Forrest Halsey. John Francis Dillon directed "Careers," and Mtss Dove's supporting cast includes Antonio Moreno, Noah Beery, Thelma Todd, Canuel Myers, Robert Frazer, Soiiu Holmes Herbert, Rober Sellable, Robert T. Haines, and others. A well-varied supporting programme is also screened.

"Broadway Babies," starring Alice WJiite, which Mervyn Lo Roy directed, commences at tlie .Majestic Theatre to-morrow. "Broadway Babies" is a story of theatrical life, and the revue is shown iv its entirety on the screen, with singing, talking, dancing, and sound effects. Miss White sings four songs duriug tlie revue, and leads several dancing numbers. The revue was staged in ,t real theatre, with a real [audience as spectators, a chorus of fifty experienced dancing girls, and a thirty-piece orchestra. Several sets of sceucry were built especially for the piqtiire, and move than fifty costumes were made for the principals and chorus. A crew of fifteen back-stage carpenters, electricians, and scene-shifters was required just for the picture itself, in addition to the- scores of regular motion picture electricians, cameramen, and technical men. Charles Dclaney plays opposite the star, and Marlon Byron and Sally Eilcrs play two of the dancing girls.
