EDUCATION INQUIRY
INSPECTION OF INSTITUTIONS
As was announced in the dying hours of the Parliamentary session, the .Education Committee of the House of Bepresentatives is to sit during the recess to consider various matters relating to education.
No time has been lost in arranging the first part of the itinerary of the Committee, -which is to commence its work immediately. The Minister of Education (the Hon. H. Atmore) announced to-day that he has consulted the other members of the Education Committee regarding the investigation, and that a tentative itinerary has been draftn up which will enable the members of the Committee to personally inspect every class of educational institution in all partß of the Dominion. A start will be made on Monday next, IBth November, in Auckland, when a number of institutions, including the University, will be inspected. The fixing of dates for the remainder of the North Island itinerary, apart from- Auckland, will depend largely on circumstances.
Those persons who are interested in the Committee's investigations are being requested to submit written evidence, if possible;
