Edward Lucre, the boy who received severe burns in a gorse fire in Washington Valley, a fortnight ago, is making good progress towards recovery in the Nelson Hospital.
On Sunday evening on the WakefieldDovedale road a match was struck to' see how much benzine was in the tank of a car. To-day the remains of the car; which belonged to 'Mr. Thorn, of Stanley Brook, were1 brought into town. At Wai-iti yesterday the death occurred, under tragic circumstances, o£ Louis J. Hoult, farmer, aged 45, The deceased had been in a depressed state of mind for some time. An inquest is to be held.
