SHORTAGE OF SHEARERS
(By Telegraph.)
(Special to "The Evening Post")
DUNEDIN, This Day. In these days of unemployment it seems remarkable that slieepfarmers should have difficulty in obtaining shearers for the coming 'season, especially as an experienced man is able for the time being to make an enviable wage. Two station owners yesterday stated that their mission to town, that of securing shearers, was not proving •such an easy task as in previous years. In explanation of this they had been told that the men were sitting back waiting for the Government's big employment scheme to come to their rescue. Whether these men'are seeking work of a. more permanent .nature than shearing, or whether they prefer lighter work, is a matter for" conjecture or individual investigation.
