A warning that unconstitutional government and legislation arc sapping the foundations of the United States ,has been sounded by Mr. James Montgomery Bock, noted civil lawyer and juris-!, who was Solicitor-General of the United States from 1921 to 1925. ''

Comint on top of President Hoover's warifmg that "our foundations have subsict ed, in connection with the crime wailc that has swept the country for the past nve years, it has given thoughtful Americans food for serious rofleetion Mr. Beck sharply criticised several recent Congressional moves, hotablv thp pending tariff legislation. "If our con^ stitution continues to disintegrate in it* essential principles as much as durinthe immediate past, it may not survive beyond the experience of children now living,"-he asserted. "Even the Union, because ot its size and greatness, will one day be disrupted unless the spirit ot the constitution is reawakened and prffm7ea,in"tlle hearts o£ the people. "Therefore I plead for an awakened conscience for constitutional moS on the part of our legislators and the people They should primarily teter miiio those grave issues for themselves. Lnless they do so they arc in serious danger_ of losing the benefits O f ?$ wisest instrument of statecraft that the wit of man has yet devised.
