ANOTHER FAREWELL

PARLIAMENT HOUSE PARTY

Her Excellency Lady Alice Fergusson was again the central figure of a great gathering' of people anxious to have an opportunity of seeing her bcrore she leaves WelUngton, and bidding her farewell. Mrs. Bernard Wood was the hostess, and was assisted in the entertaining by a number of friends. The party was held in the reception room in the old Parliamentary Buildings, tea being set on a number of tables that had been daintily decorated with pink- tulips, sweet peas, and early roses, which,- with feathery asparagus tern, had been placed in high crystal vases with a light and artistic hand, ilie eftcet was very charming. Overhead were hanging baskets of mauve Argentino peas- apd asparagus fern, while round the room' on brackets were largo silver bowls full of lilac. It was a very delightful colour scheme altogether. Mrs. Wood received her guests, wearing a frock of floral chiffon in tones of brown and yellow and a plain brown Bankok hat. Lady Alice Fergusson was wearing black with insertions of light blue and gold, her hat being to match. When she arrived she was presented with a beautiful bouquet of sweet peas and maidenhair fern by little Bernardino Wood, who did her part very charmingly, and was dressed in pale blue and white. Major Orr-Ewing accompanied Her"Excellency, and at the official table were wives of Cabinet Ministers, Mrs. J. G. Coates, Miss Holland, Lady Statham, Lady Carncross, Mrs. Michael Myers, and the Mayoress (Mrs, G. A. Troup). Mrs. T. M. Wiliord was in black with ermine furs and black hat with ospreys; Lady Carncross, black georgette and .grey fur, and hat with paradise feathers; Lady Statham, red embroidered in blue and grey fur;. Mrs. Coates, beige lace and georgette, and hat to match; Miss Holland, green patterned silk and green hat; Mrs. Vincent Ward, who was assisting Mrs. Wood in attending the guests, wore black and red patterned silk-and red hat.
