RUSSIAN EXECUTIONS
A NATIONAL CLEAN-UP

MOSCOW, 25th October. The Cheka on Thursday, after secret trials, executed fifty-one people, including forty ringleaders -of alleged conspiracies to overthrow the Soviets all over the country. They also sentenced •- fifty to lonir terms of imprisonment, all of which is part of a national'clean-up. The most sensational charges were against a religious sect,, with .headquarters on cliffs overlooking the Bla_"k " Sea, near Sochi, where twelve'," were executed, including the Mother Superior, of an Iberian nunnery. Twenty wealthv peasants, all said to be Socialists?we_e - also shot at Krasnodra, and eleven, peasants were shot at Samara for murdering commissars organising a grain, levy. ■■■■.--.
