YACHTING
ASSOCIATION. MEETING
Every affiliated club was represented at the annual meeting of the Wellington Provincial Yacht and Motor Boat Association, held in the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club's committee room on Thursday evening. Mr. J. Moffat was re-elected chairman and Mr. E. J. Wilson secretary. Mr. M'Donald was appointed treasurer. The following sailing committee was set up: Judge, Mr. W. H. Wagstaffe: starter, Mr. J. Moffat; timekeeper, Mr. E. J. Wmson. The. appointment of =i racing secretary was deferred to a later meeting. A circular letter was received from the .Takapuna Boating Club (Auckland) asking for applications for the Cornwell Cup contest. After some discussion, it was decided to decline the offer, the general "ew,- bei »S tUat jt 'was preferable for Wellington to win the trophy, if possible, an ™, th? n defen[l it on this harbour. Ihe R.P.N.Y.C. and Evans Bay racing programmes were arranged on a basis satisiactory to the delegates from both clubs. Commenting upon the annual report, the chairman said that the finances of the association were in an excellent position, iiie racing ' conducted by the association had been keen and most interesting. He complimented the skipper and crew or the Clyde, Wellington's representative "r "JI1.??* Sanders Cup contest, and also the Wellington boys who took part in the Cornwell Cup contest.
