THE MODERN CHILD
"Practically every child, to-day knows all there is to be.known. It was the pre-war seereey and hiding things up that made all the trouble. Children nowadays are growing up with no unhealthy curiosity, and aro more decent and respectable than their mothers and fathers used to be." This statement was made by Earl of Cranhrook during a discussion by tho L.C.C. Education Committee of the question whether, ehildren under 16 should be prohibited from seeing films licensed for exhibition to adults only (reports a London journal). Tho Special Services Sub-committee, after discussion of the question, recommended the Education Committee not to oxchide children from tho exhibition of these films. "The things of which we arc afraid we can only really meet by insisting that they are open to bo examined and investigated," said Professor Laski.
