NELSON FRUIT OUTLOOK.
Prospects for the coming fruit season in Nelson are good. The Government Inspector, Mr. Thorpe, stated to the Nelson "Mail" that he had never seen such a universal blossoming, and he did not remember a season when the circumstances had been so favourable to a heavy setting of apples and pears. The weather conditions over the spraying season had enabled this work to be carried out with the greatest facilities; there was very little wind and practically no rain during the early period and up to the present time. There was no doubt it had been a wonderful season. The prospects for both apples and pears were very bright and there was likely to be bumper crops. Stone fruit also bloomed heavily, and the prospects looked good at present, but the crop was not so easy to anticipate until after stoning time. There was, however, an almost entire absence of brown rot, -which under wet conditions, was always very prevalent,
