TERAWHITI MAKES READY

. GISBORNE, This Day. Preparations wcro made this inoriiincr to effect salvage of the, steamer Kahika on Waikanae beach; The Terawhiti arrived during the night,-and was engaged this morning in laying a ked^e and connecting with the Kahika by°a steel cable. The sea is moderate and conditions •ftre favourable for the first baul, which will take place early this afternoon.
