LONDON, 3rd October. The New Zealand High Commissioner, Sir James Parr, who had booked passages for himself and wife and daughters by the Mataroa, sailing on Bth October, has been requested by Sir Joseph Ward to remain as High Commissioner till the end of December. 14 this, Sir James Parr has assented. It is understood that, apart from hia own personal inclinations, Sir James Parr is impressed with the, great importance of the DominioE being adequately represented at -Geneva in November, when the Mandates Commission examines the past year'< Samoan affairs; also at the Dominions' Legislation and Shipping Conference* which assembles on Tuesday, and pre« sumably will last till December. Sir James Parr will represent New Zealand at both gatherings. The Prime Minister (the Eight Hon. Sir Joseph Ward) announced to-day, that, in response to a request from the Government, the High Commissioner for New Zealand, whose term of office had recently been extended to the 31st O* tober, had consented to act until th« 31st December next. "This action has been taken to enable Sir James Parr to represent thai Dominion at the forthcoming conference _in London on the operation of Dominion legislation, and also at the meeting of the Permanent Mandates' Commission at Geneva nest month," said the Prime Minister. '
