UNSETTLED WEATHER
MORE STILL TO COME
A low, pressure wave of the westerly type crosse:! the South Island last night, ajid as a consequence strong north-westerly winds were in evidence about Cook and Poyeaux Straits, winds else T here t being moderate to fresh. Bain fell in most western districts, with some fairly heavy falls in the South Island. Bather unsettled weather has been experienced in most parts, although this morning there was rather less cloud in the South Island than yesterday.
As there is still another low pressure wave to arrive before a rise in barometric pressure can be expected, moderate to strong north-westerly winds will continue, especially in and south of Cook Strait. Unsettled weather with a variable amount of cloud may be expected, with fairly general rain in western districts. Later the rain will extend to eastern districts of the South Island, with scattered showers elsewhere. Although at first temperatures will remain mild, a cold change may be expected after about 24 hours.
