NEW YORK, 3rd October. The stock market collapsed late on Thursday under tremendous- selling pressure, scores of high-priced issues, particularly public utilities, declining five to seventy dollars a share, wiping out more than a billion and a half "values."

" At the wool sales 10,542 bales' wera offered, of which 4031 were New Zealand, a moderate representative offering of greasy merinos and a good catalogue of New Zealand greasy crossbreds,: slipes, and scoureds. There was general competition with a steady market, prices unchanged. New Zealand greasies, crossbred, Mangapai 14d to'l3d; super comebacks, Mount Winworth 12d to 1134 d.
