FIRE AT LOWER HUTT
The Lower Hutfc Fire Brigado was called put at 7.15 this morning to st fire in a wood and iron building in Eiverbank street, occupied by the Midland Electric Company, G. J. Boulton, a bootmaker, and J. E. Smith, a plumber. The building is a portion of the Jenness Estate, but was leased to Mr. W. R-. E. Saville, who, in turn, had sublet to ' the three occupying tenants. The fire occurred in the portion occupied by the Miaiand Electric Company. The contents were completely destroyed, and the premises badly damaged. The Fire Brigade managed to confine the fire chiefly to this portion, so that the other tenants suffered mostly damage by water and smoke. The building is insured in the State Office and the stock of the Midland Electric Company in. the Atlas Insurance Office. The origin of the fire iB-not known.
