(Received 3rd 'October, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, 2nd October. Oflieial applications for the 4 per cent, conversion loan of £9,700,000 for the New Zealand Government, totalled approximately £3,500,p00. The "Financial News" states that the result of the New Zealand conversion .loan is not definitely known, but the underwriters . are expecting to be left with from 40 to 50 per cent. The "Morning Post's" financial correspondent says that despite ' the most unfavourable conditions of the markot while the lists were open, Now Zealand's conversion loan offer met with _a very satisfactory response in the circumstances.
