NICE, Ist October. Intending to leave nothing to chance, Casasco,- an accountant, suffering from a persecution mania, placed bottles of petrol in every nook and cranny of Ms apartments, including cupboards and drawers, and sprinkled trains of sulphur from them to a bath, also filled with petrol. He drank a bottle of champagne, entered the bath, set fire to the petrol, and instantly became a hnman torch, of which only a handful of charred bones' remained "when the firemen finally mastered the flames.
