„■ CARTERTON, This Day . lie annualmeeting of the South Wairarapa Irotting Club waa held at Greytown on Monday evening, Mr. J. \t liiompson (president) presiding. . -The report and balance-sheet were adopted, tho latter showing a debit balance of :El6 14s sd. As a result of unfavourable weather, a loss of £280 had been shown on the last race uicetinc Messrs. B. Sewell und C. Page were elected members of the club, and Mr C J. Beard was elected a life - member ' in recognition of past services. .A special general meeting is to be held at- the next meeting of tho committee to consider the now rules. ••'Mr.. T.-.G. R. Trigby reported that lie had a donation ot £5 10s from a supporter wJio was not a member, but wished the club all success. The donor is to be sent a. letter of appreciation. .Qfficers were elected as under:—Patron, n-^i A-, D- M'Leod; president, Mr. J. V '4, v? ni Pson: vice-presidents, Messrs. A. B- Ealf"«r» H. Younghon. veterinary surgeons, Mr. S. Fletcher and tni* Government veterinary surgeon. At a meeting of the stewards held later, Mr. J. F. Thompson was re-elected chairman Mr. E. J. Raison treasurer, and Mr. W. W. Tully auditor. It was decided that the stakes be tho same as last year.
