TRAFFIC SIGNS NEEDED
_ A report was presented to the meeting of the Upper Hutt Borough Council last night showing the number and kind of traffic signs needed within the borough. According to the report, signs of class A (level crossings) were already erected. Sixteen class B (proximity to schools, etc.) signs were needed for the Upper Hutt, Trenthain, and Silverstream Schools, and the Convent. One class C sign (sharp bend, narrow bridge, looso gravel, etc.) was required on the Whiteman's Valley road. Class D (speed limit) signs were required on Main, Whiteman's Valley, Moonshine, and Mangaroa roads, two on each. Compulsory stop signs were needed on both sides of the lino at Trentham and on ono side on the Whiteman's Valley road. /■
The report was received, and will be sent to the Commissioner of Transport, who will procure the signs for the council. The Railway Department is to be asked to erect the compulsory stop signs. , ■ .
