PLEA OF NO WORK IN DOMINION
Australian Press Association—United Service. (Received Ist August, 1 p.m.) LONDON, 3lst 'July. George MaeDonald, of Glasgow, Robert M< Clement, of Belfast, Henry Meech, of no fixed abode,' and David Wilham Smith, of Duuediu, were sentenced to a month's imprisonment at Woolwich for stowing away on tho Matakana from Wellington. All declared that they had come to Britain because work was not available in New Zealand.
