In tho Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Mr. E. C. Levvey, S.M., Charles Stewart Thomas, a well-knowu Christchurch solicitor, was charged with attempting to porvert tho course of justice in recent Supreme Court proceedings that aroso from ,1 fatal motor accident near tho clock tower. ChiefDetective Carroll conducted the case for the police, ami Mr. A. C. llanlon, of Duucdin, appeared for tho defence, ■with Mr. J. Glesson.

After a hearing which ',ist oil until late in the afternoon, the Magistrate uismissed tho information.

A similar charge against Frank Brear Clark, which was heard after Thomas's case, was also dismissed.
