RECORD ENTRIES

The forty-first annual show of the Wellington Kennel Club was opened in the Winter Show Buildings yesterday. Record entries were received, and animals wore shown from all parts of the Dominion—from Auckland to Invereargill. Particular interest was centred in tlie wife-haired fox terriers, as the lour principal breeders of New Zealand—Mrs. A. B. Talbot (Christchiircb, Messrs. D. Sinclair (Dannevirke), ST. Wade (Auckland), and W. JI. Jack (Christchurch)—were among the exhibitors. Alsatians were exceptionally strong numerically, and it probably formed the biggest exhibition of this famous breed yet made in Xew Zealand. There were excellent entries in the sporting dog classes, and Airedales and terriers alone occupied several pages in the catalogue. Spaniels and whippets were freely entered, and the numbers in the toy dog section—pomeranians, Sydney silkies, pcs kingese, chihuahuas, etc. —were much greater 'than usual. The judges were: Messrs.
