It is an enthralling pictiiro from start to finish, and brings tho novel lo the screen with a faithfulness which sives the finished product all tho charm and vcrvo of the book, only instead (if reading tho book you sco It acted out before you in a vivid way by a powerful cast, amid settings of great beauty. "Show Boat" is a picturo of such splendour and sweep that no one can afford to miss it. Most of tho action takes place on a show ■ boat, ono of those floating theatres which play the various landings along the Mississippi and Ohio rivers. These full-sized theatres built on boats still actually play tho small river towns. This is the first time they have ever been brought to the screen. The ever-changing panorama of the Mississippi as tho boat lloats down it, tho beautiful moonlit nights, the negro melodies wafted from tho shoru, tho entrancing life on board the show boat—all aro captured and presented with amazing beauty on the screen. Tho musical scoro is impressive ■with negro songs and specially written tunes by Jerome Kern. Tho directorial work is marvellously well done and credit for making a great picture from a groat book goes to Harry Pollard. "Show Boat" includes popular songs from Ziegfeld's stage extravaganza "Show Boat," surig by such Zlegfeld stars as Helen Morgan and Jules Bledsoo and Aunt Jemima for movietone. Tho Do Luxe management tender a request that patrons occupy their seats at 8 p.m. (or 2.30 in tho case of matinees), as "Show Boat" commences Immediately after tho overture. Box plans, available at the Bristol Piano Co., and Aitken's (Courteuay place), are rapidly filling and intending patrons are urged to book their seats without delay.
