MOUNT COOK GROUP
CONDITIONS OF COJIPETITION
The Mayor, Mr. G-, A. Troup, stated to-day that the drawing up of conditions for the calling of competitive designs for the national group of buildings, the Dominion Museum, tho Art Gallery, and the .Wellington Memorial Carillon Society's tow.er, to be erected ou Mount Cook, is well ahead, but that certain further 'information had to be collected by the Advisory Arohieet, Mr. C. W. Wood, of Christchurch, and the assessors, Mr. J. W. Mawson (the town planner), and Mr. W. Gray Young, of Wellington, before the conditions could be finalised. • Mr. Troup added that he had suggested to Mr. Wood that provision, should be made in the terms of- the competition to permit of tho erection of the. campanile as the first section. Mi-. Troup said that he could not say when tho competition would be declared open to architects, but there would be no unnecessary delay.
