PENGUIN AT ORIENTAL BAY
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —Some few days ago, whilst walking along Oriental parade, my attention was drawn to a little blue penguin on some rocks in immediate proximity to the Baths. I drew the attention of two passers-by, and they appeared to be as surprised and interested as I was. The little fellow did not appear to be in the feast concerned about us, although only some nine feet or so from us, keeping himself busily engaged preening his feathers. I watched the little fellow for some twenty minutes, when suddenly he (or she) slid into the water, and in n few seconds was lost to sight. Is not the appearance of a penguin so close to the Baths of rare occurrence?—l am, etc., . S.. W. CLAYTON. 234, Oriental parade.
