LONDON, 27th June. A further £2,804,000 worth of gold/ has been exported from the Bank of England to Germany and America. These withdrawals have caused some anxiety, but the bank directors have not considered it necessary to raise the bank rate. Financial experts point out that the bank recently acquired a good deal of gold above what was absolutely necessary for a backing for currency and could lose some more millions before it really needed to begin deflating.
