The Acting-Sefcietaij, Geueial Post OMce, repoits that line communication with Westport is subject to considerable intenuption, and that although excellent work was 1 done throughout the night, traffic is still' somewhat congested.
The postmaster, Takaka, repoits that shocks are.still being experienced at that place, but at'lesser intervals.
The chief postmaster, Gieymouth, leppits: "The Buller River is still running normal at Inangahua Junction, but muddy. Transporting mails over slips in Gorge, and expect to get them thiough to Westporfr to-night. One bad slip not yet cleared."
The postmaster, Glenhope, lepoits: ".Road open. Rain-ceased. Maruia Kivei lunning over. Matakitaki unchanged. Farmer leports Maruia blew out in five places. .Formation of country in each ease sandstone rock. Spiers icpoits no immediate danger fioin liveis. Shock's'growing milder."
