At a meeting of residents held at Paraparaumu on Saturday, it was decided to accept the offer of. the use of a large area of land in the vicinity of the. Paraparamu Beach, made by Messrs. M'Lean Bros., for use as a golf course. The ground, -which has been under preparation for several months, is now-almost ready for play, and it is hoped to hold the official opening in about sis weeks' time. The course is in an ideal situation for summer and winter golf, and contains the full 18 holes, over a distance of about 3% miles. A provisional committee, with Mr. J. Howell as chairman, was formed to make the preliminary arrangements, and to draw up.rules to be presented at a future meeting.
