ADMIRAL'BURNEY
Australian Pres» Aaioclation—United Service. (Received 6th June, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, sth June. The death is announced of Admiral Sir Cecil Burney,Admiral of the Fleet^ at the age of 71. Admiral Burney was second in command of the Grand Fleet, 1914-16, and took par* in the Battle of Jutland. He was Second Sea Lord of the Admiralty from 1916-17, and Commander-in-Chio£ of the Scottish Coast, 1917-19. Ho was created Admiral of the Fleet in 1920, and retired in 1925. " Commander Charles Burney, the inventor of the paravane and the organiser of airship services is an only son.
