ARTCRAFT THEATRE.
"The Street Angel," which Is now being shown, at the Artcraft Theatre, is a very interesting sentimental romance in an Italian** setting, with Charles Farrel and Janet Gaynor most effective In the leading roles. .* It relates of the dire experience of a poor Italian girl, who is unjustly arrested ■, for a venial offence really neve! committed. She makes her escape from the police, and Is rescued by some kind-hearted travelling showmen. As a performer, Angela meets with Glno, a • struggling but talented artist, and at that point when fame , Invites him a pollco officer recognises the runaway and arrests her. She pleads for a last hour with her G!no, x and Is given ■■ parole, and then without Imparting her secret, to him tells the law to take its course. The subsequent Incidents and happy ending are most artistically worked out. ; There Is a good supporting programme.
